Our Story, Mission & Vision
From humble beginnings in Kenya's slums to a registered NGO serving five counties — this is ROCK.
Born from a frontline encounter with poverty.
Rays of Care Kenya (ROCK) was officially registered in March 2018 as a Community Based Organisation in Kajiado County. In 2023, ROCK was re-registered as a full NGO — Ray Care Kenya Alliance (RCKA).
Our founder was working in the slums and witnessed first-hand the gaps that mainstream organisations were not filling: youth with no mentors, women with no income pathways, communities with no healthcare within reach.
ROCK was built to fill those gaps — with permanent skills, relationships and structures that sustain themselves long after we leave.

How we create lasting change.
Pillar 01
Health & Wellness
Since 2017 we have run more than six free medical camps across Kenya — screening thousands of patients for diabetes, hypertension, eye and dental conditions, and providing free medicines. Every camp also includes tree planting and health talks.
Pillar 02
Life Skills & Mentorship
During school holidays and within school programmes, ROCK volunteers mentor young people on personal development, career guidance, reproductive health, and responsible citizenship.
Pillar 03
Entrepreneurship & Capacity Building
We train communities — especially women — to produce eco-friendly detergents, weave mats from recycled materials, learn basic cookery, and develop beadwork skills, turning creativity into sustainable livelihoods.
Pillar 04
Environmental Conservation
ROCK targets 10,000 trees planted per year. Every medical camp includes tree planting. We have planted almost 200 trees at Aligula Primary School and hundreds more at camp sites across five counties.
Pillar 05
Community Resource Centre
We are building an equipped Community Resource Centre in Kitengela — a physical space for training, health outreach, youth programmes, and community meetings that will serve the region for decades.
