Rays of Care Kenya (ROCK) was officially registered in March 2018 as a Community Based Organization. We are located at Viwanda Lane in Kitengela, Kajiado County. uMore than five years ago the founder who was working in the slums felt the need to start an organization that would be focused more on the youth, women and hard to reach communities.
Our Vision
To build and strengthen the youth and women to achieve their full potential .
Our Mission uStrengthen young people and women realize their full potential as productive and responsible adults. This is done through our pillars;
Pillar 1: Health and wellness
Under this pillar, since 2017, we have been able to organize for more than six medical camps.
Pillar 2: Life skills and Mentorship
It is done during the holidays and in schools under Mentorship programs uPillar 3: Entrepreneurship and Capacity building
It is done by training the communities on how to make mats from recycled materials and detergents. Learn basic cookery skills and beading.
Pillar 4: Environmental conservation and Permaculture
Our target is to plant over 10,000 trees per year during our activities like the medical camp and Mentorship programs. So far we have planted atleast 500 trees in every medical camp. One of the adopted school which is Aligula primary, so far we have planted almost 200 trees and our prayer is to change the face of that school in Soy.
The Team
Our team is dynamic in skills hence we are an all round with different departments and expertise e.g. in Health and Wellness we have healthcare professionals, social workers, and teachers who help in day today activities. Our team of volunteers believe in service to mankind is service to God so they do not expect to be paid but appreciated, they are dedicated and motivated to the service they give to the less fortunate in the society. uThey sacrifice their time and resource to make sure we reach as many people in need as possible. They travel from different parts of the country. u
